Our Flower Philosophy
According to the study “An Environmental Approach to Positive Emotion: Flowers” by researcher Jeannette Haviland-Jones, Ph.D. flowers are good for your mental health. (source: Society of American Florists)
Flowers have a long-term positive effect on moods. Specifically, study participants reported feeling less depressed, anxious and agitated after receiving flowers, and demonstrated a higher sense of enjoyment and life satisfaction.
When we deliver fresh bouquets we’ve seen folks light up, and it is our sincere belief that everyone deserves access to the benefits of flowers. That being said, not everyone can afford fresh blooms, which is why we created a project called Flowers for the People. The goal is to provide our locally grown, fresh flowers and evergreen wreaths to community organizations and assisted living facilities to get more flowers into the hands of more people. With help from our partner organizations and sustaining members, The Magic Bean Farm is committed to sharing our abundance with the community.
Flowers for the People believes flowers are for everyone!
Funded through donations, partner organizations, and sustaining members we bring our locally grown flowers and workshops to community organizations, libraries, local schools, and assisted living facilities. Click through the slides below to see some of our past workshops.
Flowers for the People events take place throughout the year, so be sure to visit our Farm Calendar to see what we’re doing next.
